Welina mai me ke aloha — Welcome.
I am Robbie Ann Kauanoemaikalani (Kauanoe) Shimose, founder of Kauanoe Wellness. I was born and raised in the district of Puna on the island of Hawaiʻi, and shaped by a deep connection to my Native Hawaiian culture. I was raised with an understanding of my ancestral roots and the values that guide us. This connection was further nurtured through my years as a hula practitioner, a discipline that deepened my relationship with my natural environment, a spiritual foundation of my work today.
Alongside my cultural rearing and values, I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a Master’s in Counseling Psychology, and for over 20 years, I served as a School Counselor in the Hawaiʻi Department of Education and Kamehameha Schools. This foundation shapes how I approach my current work. Whether through conversation, energy work, or spiritual connection, my focus is always to guide you with honesty and compassion.
My Process & Practice
“Pōhāhā: to grope, to reach, to burst forth.”
In the Kumulipo, a Hawaiian creation chant, life begins to rise from the ocean floor. These life forms navigate the darkness of pō not through sight, but by reaching and sensing, by moving with instinct and trust. This is the essence of pōhāhā, to feel your way through what is unseen, and to allow what is ready to emerge to burst forth. It speaks to a process that begins in stillness, moves with intention, and leads to transformation. Lapa'au Pōhāha is the name given to my process and practice, the conduit, listening deeply to what is just beneath the surface and supporting its arrival into the visible.
Session Information
The services I offer are guided by the unique needs of each individual I support. People are often drawn to this work seeking guidance, healing, connection with loved ones who have passed, or simply a safe space to process their thoughts and emotions. The insights I receive from the spirit realm help shape each session, allowing the work to unfold in the direction that will serve you best.
Each session is open in structure and guided by what naturally arises. One or more of the following may come through, depending on what is most needed in the moment:
Mediumship
Through mediumship, I serve as a bridge between the seen and unseen, connecting with loved ones who have passed, spiritual guides, and ancestors. These messages often bring comfort, clarity, healing, and a sense of peace for those seeking connection or closure.
Holistic Guidance
I support clients in processing thoughts and emotions, especially during times of change or uncertainty. This includes working through transitions, clarifying goals and intentions, and identifying what is ready to shift in support of your overall well-being.
Energy-Centered Healing
By tuning into your body and energy field, I listen to what is present and what is seeking attention. With the help of spiritual and ancestral wisdom and guidance, I am able to sense where healing is needed and how it wants to move. As a conduit for healing, I offer insight, presence, and intuitive support to help meet your needs.
